Lumigan 0.01% Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution Eye Drops

Lumigan 0.01% Eye Drops is a prescription ophthalmic solution containing the active ingredient bimatoprost, a synthetic prostamide analog. It is formulated to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension by enhancing fluid outflow from the eye to help protect the optic nerve.

Key Uses & Mechanism

• Open-Angle Glaucoma & Ocular Hypertension: Helps manage elevated pressure within the eye by increasing uveoscleral outflow.
• Consistent Pressure Regulation: Steadily lowers intraocular pressure over time to help reduce the risk of optic nerve damage.

Administration & Dosage

• Standard Dosage: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Proper Application: Wash hands thoroughly, tilt head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and place one drop into the pocket without touching the dropper tip to any surface. Close the eye gently and apply gentle pressure to the inner corner for 1 minute.
• Contact Lenses: Remove contact lenses prior to administration and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
• Multiple Eye Drops: If using other ophthalmic medications, space administrations at least 5 minutes apart.

Storage & Handling

Store between 15°C and 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Protect from excessive light and moisture, keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use, and keep out of reach of children.
