Indications and Uses

• Scabies: Treats skin infestations caused by microscopic mites.
• Strongyloidiasis: Controls intestinal parasitic infections caused by Strongyloides stercoralis.
• Onchocerciasis: Manages conditions associated with river blindness.
• Lymphatic Filariasis: Used in combination regimens for mosquito-borne filarial infections.

Mechanism of Action

Ivermectin binds selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing hyperpolarization, paralysis, and subsequent death of the parasite while sparing host tissues.

Usage and Administration

Administer orally on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, at least one hour before or two hours after a meal. Dosage is determined based on body weight and clinical indication. Do not crush or chew tablets.
